Here you can find an exhaustive list of projects to which we contributed.
Capacity audit - Dutch Infrastucture Fund - Finsterwalde II & III PV Plant (39.8 MWp - Germany - 2012)
The Finsterwalde PV II & III power plant of a cumulated 39.8MWp was connected to the grid in autumn 2010.
KiloWattsol was mandated by the power plant's owner, Dutch Infrastructure Fund (DIF) to carry out a capacity audit, an innovative survey format that consists of assessing the power plant's future production by evaluating the production results for a given period, under its specific climatic conditions. This allows an approach based on facts rather than assumptions, reducing uncertainties linked to the models and subsequently adjusting the yield forecast for the plant’s remaining lifetime.

Risk Assessment - Siemens Bank - San Martino & Pietralba PV Plants (4 MWp - Corsica - 2012)
The French island of Corsica has witnessed a strong growth of the renewables' share in electricity generation over the past years. Legislation imposes a maximum share of 30%, above which the owner of the grid has the right to disconnect certain power plants. Due to the randomly intermittent renewable energy resource, it is complicated to determine the actual probability for this scenario to materialise.
In order to be able to reduce the level of incertitude during the financing of the project, kiloWattsol was mandated by Siemens Bank and Commerzbank to carry out an assessment of the technical situation for two PV projects, determining the risk of disconnection.

Storage Feasibility Study - Helios Systems - Project Tenekou (3.5 kVA - Mali - 2012)
kiloWattsol was mandated by Helios Systems, a German inverter manufacturer, to provide simulation support for a project in Mali. The client operates an off-grid industrial activity, powered by one 200kVA and one 150kVA Diesel generator. Due to logistical constraints during the transportation of the fuel over 1500km of earth roads, including the crossing of the river Niger, the cost of electricity is exceptionally high.
Through a series of simulations, kiloWattsol identified the optimum PV capacity to be associated to a minimum number of battery storage containers in connection with the actual Diesel generator. The Levelised Cost of Energy (LCoE) of this hybrid solution is 35% lower that of the original technical solution. This gulf will widen with the rise of the price of petrol.

CPV Yield Assessment - Airefsol Energies - Projet 17 CPV Power Plant (1.9 MWp - France - 2012)
Airefsol Energies, a joint venture (Eolfi et RFF) designed a solar power plant in the Vaucluse departement in the South of France with 1.9MWp installed power using Heliotrop G2.1 CPV modules and Exotrack dual-axis solar trackers.
kiloWattsol was mandated by Airefsol Energies t to carry out Yield Assessment for the CPV power plant.

Yield Assessment for Trackers - Compagnie du Vent - Langelé Power Plant (12 MWp - France - 2012)
La Compagnie du Vent, a subsidiary of GDF Suez, designed a solar power plant in the Landes departement in the South-West of France, using conventional PV modules mounted on single-axis trackers with an installed power of nearly 12 MWp.
kiloWattsol was mandated by la Compagnie du Vent to carry out a Yield Assessment for the project. The technical solution being tracker-based, it was important for a technical advisor to be able to perform complex mass calculations, as the issue of mutual shading for moving structures cannot be simulated with generic software packages available on the market, and used by many competitors.

Climatic Analysis - T Solar - Majes & Reparticion PV Power Plants (44 MWp - Chile - 2011)
The sites of Majes and Reparticion projects (44 MWp) are situated in the Andes range, a chain of mountains with an extremely complex topography.
kiloWattsol's was selected by OPIC (Overseas Private Investment Corp.), a US government agency, in order to provide a bankable climatic analysis, taking into account the complex topography and the lack of qualified and reliable weather stations.

Feasibility Study - Semafo - Kona PV Power Plant (22 MWp - Burkina Faso - 2011)
Semafo, a major Canadian mining company, exploits a gold mine in the town of Kona. Currently, the electricity necessary to operate the mine is generated by a diesel-electric system. However, fuel is transported over a distance of 500km on road to this end, which is both, costly and also a source of occasional supply shortage, e.g. due to flooded roads. A 22MWp PV power plant is set to partly overcome this problem.
kiloWattsol was mandated by Semafo to carry out feasibility studies and Yield Report.

CPV Yield Assessment - Compagnie du Vent - Le Mouruen CPV Power Plant (2.2 MWp - France - 2011)
La Compagnie du Vent, a subsidiary of GDF Suez, designed a solar power plant in the Var departement in the South of France, combining a conventional PV system with a 2.2MWp section of Soitec CX5530 CPV modules.
kiloWattsol was mandated by la Compagnie du Vent to carry out Yield Assessment for the CPV and PV sections. In order to do so, kiloWattsol developed a CPV simulation tool in collaboration with Soitec's R&D department.

PV Yield Assessment - EDF EN - Toul-Rosières PV Power Plant (137 MWp - France - 2011)
The site of the Toul-Rozières project is situated in the Lorraine region in North-East France. The installation's key feature are some 1 800 000 CdTe modules with an excess nominal capacity of 137MWp, which will make it the biggest PV power plant in Europe once fully connected to the grid.
kiloWattsol's role in this project was to perform yield assessment for the project developer, Electricité de France - Energies Nouvelles (EDF-EN). This mission was carried out in November 2011. It is sponsored by the investment fund Marguerite (European Commission, European Investment Bank and 8 state-owned Deposition Banks like kfw and CDC).
